Campers get to experience a variety of activities throughout their day and week at camp. Your camper’s day begins and ends with all-camp activities, energizers, songs and group-time. In addition chipmunks receive group lessons two times per week. Chipmunk traditional camp is a fun and exciting program with lots of personal attention by caring and well trained staff. Counselors focus on creating independence, working on social skills including making friends and keeping them, leadership, encouraging campers to try new things and to appreciate differences.
Traditional Camp Activities
Campers swim at least once a day (weather permitting) in our pool or the pond. (We can not guarantee at which location your child will swim.) Group swim lessons are included two days a week for full time campers up to age 8 in our Traditional Day Camps. Part-time campers will receive swim lessons at least one day per week.
Basics of bow and arrow safety, care and function with lots of target practice.
OUTDOOR LIVING SKILLS
Survival skills from fire building and knot tying to map and compass or shelter building.
ARTS & CRAFTS
Crafts may include bead work, candle making, painting, drawing and nature projects.
Hands-on lessons that may include tracking animals, plants and tree identification, weather, gardening, birds, insects and conservation.
Soccer, kickball, basketball, Frisbee, 4-square and lots more.
DIRIGO ROPES COURSE
High and low rope elements and initiatives challenge campers both individually and in teams.
DRAMA & MUSIC
Activities may include theater improvisation games, skits, physical activities, group challenges and musical activities.
