Horse back riding at Camp Ketcha this April 2020 school vacation! Ages 6 and up. Campers will learn to lead, groom, tack and ride! Other activities include camp crafts, outdoor activities and helping to feed the animals at the barn.
Runs April 20th-24th. Sign up by the day or for the full week.
During our April vacation camp campers can expect to RIDE daily. We will ride in light rain so please dress for the weather. Campers will learn proper safety measures at the farm and spend a lot of time practicing them around the horses while we lead, groom, tack and ride!
Aside from riding, campers will partake in an array of activities including arts and crafts, obstacle courses, learning activities and feeding our animals daily. At the Camp Ketcha barn good horsemanship, being safe and having fun are at the heart of our program. We strive to bring our campers closer to these wonderful animals and grow to understand of all the hard work, dedication and love that goes into running a farm.
Please dress for a day at the farm. Campers will need long pants, but not wind pants as they are not safe for riding. Boots with a small 1 inch heal and no tread is preferred; rain boots are okay. We do have a nice heated room for crafts, snack and lunch but we will try to be outside or in the barn as much as we can. Hats and coats required for the day. We will provide helmets for riding.
